67: Dynamic research serving the Hauts de France Region

A multidisciplinary team coordinated by Séverine Padiolleau, bringing together the UTC Enzymatic and Cellular Engineering Laboratory (GEC), the Compiègne Applied Mathematics Laboratory (LMAC) and UTC’s Knowledge, Organisation and Technical Systems Laboratory (Costech), as well as the Saint-Côme polyclinic for the clinical aspect, has been formed to develop a direct, inexpensive, reliable and rapid method for detecting Lyme disease. This disease is especially prevalent in forest areas, as is the case in the Compiègne area. The Saint-Côme polyclinic is also one of the national centres of expertise dedicated to this disease. Their work is partly funded by UTC, the Sorbonne University Alliance, the Hauts-de-France Region and patient associations, and addresses a regional issue. Further proof of the dynamism of research at UTC is the award of a CNRS silver medal to Anne-Virginie Salsac, CNRS research director at the UTC Biomechanics and Bioengineering Laboratory (BMBI).
