Turning an idea into a concrete achievement

For several decades, Junior (Enterprise) UTC has been offering its services to numerous companies, associations and individuals. It provides tailor-made support for each project thanks to its diverse skills in several fields of engineering and IT.

“Be brave, express your desire to innovate and be entrepreneurial without fear of judgement or failure! Failure builds character and teaches lessons… and you will never regret to have dared…” With these words, Patrick Dupin, DG of Saint-Gobain Group Operations and President of the UTC Foundation for Innovation, opened the Junior UTC handover ceremony, addressing the committed students gathered under the watchful eye of their UTC Alumni predecessors on Thursday August 28,2025. It proved to be a great showcase of the students’ community involvement and entrepreneurial spirit. During the event, guests heard testimonials from Béatrice Bolling, Director of Marketing, Purchasing and Communications at RIKA France, a client of Junior UTC and project manager Valentine Langlois, as well as film director Victorien Druon. “Many UTC graduates have devoted part of their energy to Junior UTC during their studies. Many talk about it as a formative experience, sometimes decisive in their careers. Each mission carried out by Junior UTC shows that our students are already active players in the professional world, capable of innovating and transforming ideas into concrete achievements,” emphasises Patrick Dupin. “Our congratulations to the entire outgoing team for their remarkable commitment, and we have every confidence in the new team taking over under the chairmanship of Alexian Sebag, who will continue and enrich this wonderful dynamics!

Meeting industrial and societal challenges

Responding to the needs of many companies that want to work with the engineers of tomorrow is the credo of Junior UTC, which celebrated its 50th anniversary two years ago. As a reminder, it is a commercial association governed by the French law of 1901 and administered by engineering students at UTC. Its objective is to meet the needs of professionals by putting them in touch with skilled students from the institution. It has many clients, including government agencies, Cetim, EADS, Pirelli, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Renault, Sanofi Aventis, Vinci and others. All of the studies carried out have educational value and remain within the field of study of the engineering students (computer science, mechanics, biology, processes, urban planning). It benefits from the support of lecturer-research scientists for complex projects and has access to research laboratories, prototyping workshops, feasibility studies, life cycle analysis, carbon footprint analysis, application and website development and data analysis. For example, Junior UTC has three flagship services based on UTC’s areas of excellence: new product development, digitisation of structures by capitalising on data and improvement of environmental impact. Since 1982, more than 1 300 missions have been carried out. More than ever, UTC is training engineers who are ready to take on industrial and societal challenges.
